Higher Price: Virgin Galactic Sell 100 More Tickets To Space After Reopen

Virgin Galactic has sold 100 more space tickets after reopening for tourism orders. According to the company, there are currently 700 ticket holders in line for the next space tourism flight.

The Space company plans to sell 1,000 tickets to fully kickstart frequent tourist space trips, announcing the target at its last earnings call.  A lot of customers have lined up to buy these tickets costing more than $450,000 per seat.

Even its CEO Michael Colglazier has this to say “We’re selling tickets ahead of the pace we planned,” during the company’s third-quarter earnings call. “The pricing strategy we announced last quarter has been well received.”

Virgin Galactic has reopened its Commercial Space Flight Ticket, it Starts at $450k Per Seat. Billionaire Richard Branson is on the quest to expand its space tourism business with the new reopenings.

Its SpaceShipTwo spaceplane will continue its commercial space flight, with a starting price of $450,000. This is an increase from the $250,000 for a seat some time ago.

The Space company will be giving priority to earlier customers who paid the former $250,000 price.

For the new ticket sales, the company has three consumer offerings: I) a single seat ii) a multi-seat couples/friends/family package, and iii) a full-flight buy-out.

Currently, the SpaceShipTwo craft can carry four passengers. The company had a successful commercial flight last month.

Virgin Galactic is at the forefront of commercial Space travel. They have the United States FAA (Federal Aviation Administration’s) approval to fly customers on its Spaceship Two rocket plane.

As many as 600 customers have put down as much as $250,000 for its suborbital spaceflight reservation; according to a report by universetoday.com.

Virgin Galactic is now on course to create the “world’s first commercial spaceline”, its successful flight is just the beginning. This flight has sparked a lot of interest amongst customers hence the rise in ticket buyers.

In order to secure a seat, Space tourists will have to put down a $150,000 deposit, $25,000 of which is not refundable. The company’s VSS Imagine spacecraft will be available for its next space flight by 2023 according to the company. That is quite a long time before an expensive flight takes place.
