For a while now there’s been a lot of speculations about who will replace Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. His last participation in the series is his appearance in “No Time To Die.”

According to reports from The Vultan Reporter, Hardy landed the position after a successful audition back in June.

He beat out a long string of actors like Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and Richard Madden and others who were rumoured to be considered for the role.

It’s easy to see why Tom Hardy was chosen for the role. Not only is he British and partly Irish ( his mother is), the actor is known for highly exerting and action-packed roles.

The 43-year-old actor has starred in films like “Bronson”, “Star Trek: Nemesis” and “Inception”. He has also played Tommy Riordan in “Warrior”, Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises”. He appeared as Max Rockatansky in “Mad Max: Fury Road”, and the Venom in a film of the same name.

Even while playing these highly demanding roles, Tom Hardy with his forever ruffled hair, piercing blue-green eyes, and boyish charm has a way of bringing humour to his roles; something that has been sorely missed in the recent James Bond movies.

Pierce Brosnan first hinted at the Tom Hardy becoming the next Bond in an interview with Daily Mail.

“Daniel Craig has been an incredible Bond. He’s very physical, he looks lethal. You genuinely believe this is someone who could kill a man,” he said.

“He’s complained about doing the part because he’s put himself through a lot physically. He will do the next movie, and then I think Tom Hardy could be a good Bond”

The news has been greeted with excitement. Many cannot wait to see Tom Hardy embody the much-loved role of James Bond.

Hardy will be joining the venerable hall of fame of 007 series spy actors like Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and most recently Daniel Craig.
