Hackers Compromise 6.1 Million Accounts Linked To 200 Websites, Check If You Are A Victim Here

Cyble reports that as of 1st June, hackers have already compromised 200 websites and that this could have led to exposing 6.1 million personal accounts. The security-focused company also provides a means for you to check if you are a victim or not.

Researchers associated with the security outfit discovered that many companies have been hacked by cybercriminals. They compiled the data and found that it amounted to 200 websites. To help victims check for their accounts, they acquired the leaked database and then indexed it on a search engine.

This search engine corresponds to breached data with websites and accounts. To check for how secure your website is, you should search it on amibreached.com; it holds a list of all the users that were exposed in the hack. In a blog post, Cyble explains its research team goes to this great length to expose internet misconduct. It wrote:

“We report these breaches so people could be aware of the threats and risks using these applications, and perhaps do something about it.”

Its dark web monitoring search engine is the amibreached website that we already mentioned above. The company claims that it currently has more than 40 billion dark web records. These records are free to access, it said in the post.

While the US-based cyber threat intelligence company keeps playing its part in exposing cyber threats; internet users should also stay security conscious. This is even more important at this time because the pandemic has made more people have more time on their hands.

There are many security tips that you should be using while you browse the internet. You should also stay up-to-date with new information on cyber threats as well. While cybercriminals remain relentless, you should be vigilant at all times as well. Even if you are not part of the compromised 6.1 billion users of the 200 websites, hackers may get to you someday; be ready by then.
