Take-Two, the owners of Rockstar, may have recently suggested that the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on Google Stadia.

This was because Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick gave a lot of positive comments about the Google console while speaking with investors.

He said:

“You know the promise of being able to sign on to a service with virtually no barriers, without a box in between, and being able to play our games on any device whatsoever around the world, and to do it with low latency? Well, that’s very compelling if that can be delivered. And the folks at Google minimally have said it will be delivered and will be delivered in relatively short order.

“Conceptually, we want to be where the consumer is, and we’ll support new entrants and we are a believer in streaming services. Again, you know we need to have business models that make sense for us. So far, we’re pretty optimistic.”

These comments may have given GTA fans hope that the GTA 6 will be on Google Stadia upon release. However, according to leaked Google Stadia specs, it may not be completely compatible with the new GTA.

Google Stadia will reportedly be powered by generation AMD Vega Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) architecture. This would mean that Stadia’s GPU, possibly based on the Vega 56, will struggle to stream the game in 4K at 60 frames-per-second.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility that Google could use a custom version of the GPU. They also have the option of upgrading and evolving their technology as the platform grows.

There have been a lot of speculations and rumours around GTA 6 lately. Fans are looking forward to a sequel for the game, rumoured to have a 2020 release date. Some reports also suggest that the game will be exclusive to Sony’s next-generation PS5 console.

A clickbait account may have posted a GTA 6 leak a few years ago. However, that has since been debunked and new video of what the possible leaks could mean emerged below.
