Google will stop supporting older Android devices when you sign in with your Google account. Starting from September 27th, Google will not let you sign in to your google account. If you still run Andriod 2.3.7, codenamed Gingerbread or older.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our users safe, Google will no longer allow sign-in on Android devices that run Android 2.3.7 or lower starting September 27, 2021.”
Google is taking this action based on security reasons. The tech company has been going big on privacy and security features recently.
The company is mentioned on its support page.
“If you sign into your device after September 27, you may get username or password errors when you try to use Google products and services like Gmail, YouTube, and Maps.”
So you have an Android device running Gingerbread or lower. Kindly check if you can update to the next version of Google’s OS available for your phone.

To be sure you are running a newer version other than Gingerbread, open your settings app and scroll down to “system”.
Click on “system”, select “About phone” and scroll down to see your Phone’s Android version.
So you have an Android device running Gingerbread/Android 2.3.7 or lower. Kindly check if you can update to the next version of Google’s OS available for your phone.
It’s easy, Go to your Android settings app. Use the search button and type “update” then click on “Software update” and update your phone. If you don’t have the search feature, scroll down and select “system”. Click on “About Phone” and finally select “Software update.”
