Google is rolling out its noise cancelation in Google Meet for Android and iOS apps. However, the company says it won’t be available to everyone except G Suite Enterprise or G Suite Enterprise for Education customers.

Google first rolled out the noise cancelation feature in June 2020 on Meet for web. The technology is so impressive that it can cancel out background noise like a keyboard or a barking dog while you’re on a Google Meet call.

In a VentureBeat video from June 2020, Serge Lachapelle, a G Suite director of product management, demonstrated how the noise cancelation technology quiets a crinkling bag of snacks, a clicking pen, and a clinking glass (from 1:50).

The G Suite Updates blog says the noise cancelation feature is turned off by default on mobile. To turn it, follow the following steps:

Before a video call;

— Go to meet.google.com and select a video call.
— Before you join, on the top right, click More options, and then Settings.
— Click Audio.
— Turn on Noise cancellation.
— Click Join Now.

If you’re on a video call;
— On the bottom right, click More options, and then Settings.
— Click Audio.
— Turn on Noise cancellation.

You can confirm how much noise is cancelled out with the following steps by looking at the voice indicator next to your self preview at the top right corner of your screen. The Voice indicator reflects what others may hear, sounds that are blocked and cannot be heard by others will not move the indicator line.
