Google has launched ‘Ripple‘ an open source API that provides tiny radars to cars including Ford and others. The American car company is among the first automakers to be testing this long time development from Google.
“Ripple will unlock helpful innovation that benefits everyone. General purpose radar is a key emerging technology for solving critical use cases in a privacy-respecting way,” said Ivan Poupyrev, Head Google ATAP Skunkworks.
Google’S recent new beta testing program for its Android Auto car system, is open to a select few. Android Auto just like Apple’s Car play enables car users to connect their mobile phones, use different apps and connectivity.
Testers for the android auto beta program only need to have an android phone, users get early access to new features before they are released to the general public, Google said.

To join the beta android auto program, Goggle says you should follow these steps below:
1. Go to the opt-in page to beta test Android Auto.
2. Choose “Become a tester.”
3. Go to the Google Play store and update your Android Auto app to the beta version.
Google cautions that the beta testing versions can be less stable and some features might not work.
The Alphabet-owned company has been in the news lately for beta testing and security updates. It recently launched the beta version of Android 12, and security features for Chrome.
