Google has announced that it is rolling out a feature that will integrate Google Meet into Gmail accounts of G Suite users. This means that G Suite users do not have to leave the platform to call their Gmail contacts.
Users can now launch Meet in the left sidebar of their Gmail interface. They can both click on Join a meeting option or Start a meeting option from the sidebar.
Google recently made Meet free to everyone that has a Google account, allowing meetings of up to 100 people with no time limits.
“It’s important that everyone who uses Meet has a secure and reliable experience from the start, so beginning next week, we’ll be gradually expanding its availability to more and more people over the following weeks,” the company said in a blog post.

With Meet, Google will have forestalled “Zoombombing” as users have to log in to their Google account to join a meeting. The meeting’s host also has to invite you, or you’ll be sent to a waiting area until the host approves you.
The search giant says Meet’s daily use has grown 30 times since January 2020, adding 3 million new users every day.
“As of this month, Meet is hosting 3 billion minutes of video meetings and adding roughly 3 million new users every day. And as of last week, Meet’s daily meeting participants surpassed 100 million,” Google claimed.
