Google Hire is the next Google tool to shut down. The G Suite tool was built for recruiters at small and midsized companies. The tool is due to finally go off the radar on Sunday, 1st September 2020. A specific reason was not given, but Google said it was focusing its resources on other products in the Google Cloud portfolio.

Hire is the most recent of Google products that the company shut down. The tech company also recently shut down Google Plus, Google Inbox, and its chat app, Allo. All these may start to make us worry that Google’s service will not last forever. It may be advisable to not rely on the company’s services solely.

Google launched Hire in 2017 alongside Google for Jobs. The latter app is one that filters third-party job postings based on the user’s search criteria. It was meant to be a great tool that would help job seekers find employment. Although, the EU is raising antitrust complaints against Google for Jobs. It looks like a lot of the features of the app may be put on hold now. Especially as Hire is shutting down too.

Google now says that it will no longer add features to Hire. However, users can continue using the tool until it runs out on 1st September 2020. In addition, Google will also stop charging users for the services after now.
