The game just got even more serious. Over the past weeks, “Game of Thrones” fans have revealed negative reactions over the direction of the story, bringing up a petition in that regard. With five episodes aired already, the final episode is set for release on Sunday, 19th May 2019.

“Game of Thrones” fans are not playing. So far over 300,000 fans have signed a petition requesting for a remake of the show’s final season.

The petition is requesting for 500,000 signatures from fans around the world. The current number of signees is 301,593.

According to the Change.org petition, called “Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers”, fans of the show want the creators to step aside.

“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

Another signatory to the “Game of Thrones” petition wrote on Thursday:

“The story fell apart. The characters became caricatures of themselves – and some worse, unrecognisable – and the world lost the cohesiveness and believe-ability it had maintained previously.”

The question is, would this be feasible? How much do you want a remake of the final season?
