Meg Otanwa gave a stellar performance in this film. The way she expresses all the range of emotions with ease is incredible. In an interview with Pulse, Otanwa revealed that she had to gain weight so she can portray the physical attributes of a woman who had just given birth.

The storyline was also very easy to follow through. However, if you are a lover of happy endings, this film will leave you disappointed.

The film didn’t give a rounded story, it shines a light on post-partum depression a great deal but didn’t go in-depth on how medical science is doing its best to alleviate such situations. Let’s just say the director knows best how to deliver the story.

“For Maria Ebun Pataki” is streaming on Netflix and a good watch for anyone who is open-minded to see the not so joyous sides of motherhood.
