It is Flashback Friday, another moment to reminisce on the good old days and just smile back at beautiful memories.

Today we are looking at the era where big handbags were in vogue. By big handbags, we mean those really bulky bags that are supposed to be handbags but can also substitute as luggage.

Much of the time, ladies were mocked at the size of their bags. This was because, at that time, you couldn’t differentiate a lady going out on a date from another travelling by their bag.

These bags were big and beautiful and, if you were a slay queen, you just had to complete your look by carrying one.

Fashion is always evolving, and what was stylish yesterday may not in style today. Now ladies are seen with midi bags and very tiny bags. There are now backpacks, and even bags that you can carry on the waist and you are good to go for that date or event.

Popular TV presenter and vlogger Toke Makinwa is one lady who flaunts a variety of handbags she owns. She also owns a luxury handbag called “TM bags”. Going through her Instagram page, you will see Toke Makinwa in both mini and midi bags and you can’t help but appreciate how fashionable she is.

So if you still have those big handbags in your closet, you can convert them to a travelling bag and still make use of it. Sometimes being fashionable is going with the season, and this season is to slay in mini and midi bags.

So slay on ladies, and let your handbag do the talking in that party, date or event.
