In partnering with ride-hailing company, Bolt, Flance hopes to help gig drivers get affordable healthcare services. It also offers an innovative platform to help them manage the services better.
According to its press release on Techpoint Africa, it appears that the offer is starting with only Nigerian Bolt drivers. Likely, both companies could extend it to other African countries where the ride-hailing service is available.

Flance believes that the gig economy in Africa is on the verge of exploding and it is positioning itself to be where workers turn to when they need services like physical and virtual doctor consultations, preventive care, lab tests, prescriptions, and more. They’ll also be eligible for loans and other health insurance packages.
“The gig economy in Africa is growing at an average of 20% annually, and it is estimated that by 2030, there’d be 80 million gig workers in Africa. This collaboration is in line with our mission at Flance to help this emerging demographic access quality, affordable, and inclusive benefits,” Flance CEO Victor Ekwealor said.
In a statement, Bolt Regional Manager for West and North Africa Ireoluwa Obatoki reiterated the company’s commitment to providing needed services for its drivers. “This collaboration with Flance is a major step forward in that commitment, and we are proud to offer driver-partners access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services,” Obatoki added.
