FilmOne Secures Exclusive Deal To Distribute Walt Disney Titles In West Africa

Major players in Nigeria’s film distribution sector FilmOne Entertainment, has secured an exclusive distribution deal with Disney Africa.filmone

With this new deal, they now have exclusive rights to distribute Disney movies in Nigeria, Ghana, and Liberia.

 

The new deal covers all titles on Walt Disney Studios and it’s divisions. This includes Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios. Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and Blue Sky Pictures titles will also be distributed by FilmOne.

 

Speaking on the new deal, Christine Service, Senior Vice President and General Manager of The Walt Disney Company Africa said: “With their in-depth knowledge of the region and expertise in bringing theatrical releases to fans, we are thrilled to welcome FilmOne as our distribution partner for this territory.”

Meanwhile, directors of FilmOne Entertainment Kene Okwuosa, Moses Babatope, and Craig Shurn confirmed the new milestone deal in a joint statement.

 

They shared “We are proud to be Disney’s film distribution partner for West Africa. We see this as the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both companies in the region. Our expertise and knowledge of the market, coupled with the unrivaled quality of Disney’s titles, will drive box-office growth for many years to come.

 

With the ease of lockdown and reopening of cinemas, many are poised to see their favourite new movies on their screens.

 

Some of the anticipated movies include “Mulan”, “The New Mutants”, “The King’s Man”, “Death on the Nile”, and “Black Widow”. Soul, Free Guy, “The Last Duel”, and “Eternals” will also be screening.
