Big Brother Naija aka BBNaija, the biggest reality show in Africa is set to premiere its fifth season come 19th July 2020.
The premiere date of the highly anticipated show was announced via the verified Twitter handle of the Big Brother Naija on Monday 29th July 2020.
This year, Guinness Nigeria will be joining Betway Nigeria as the lead sponsors on the show.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers of the show on the 20th of May 2020, begun auditions for interested candidates online.
The candidates were told to record a two-minute video stating why they should be picked as housemates in the 2020 edition of the programme.

Last year’s edition tagged “Pepperdem” saw the emergence of Mercy Eke as the first female winner of the reality show.
In 2018, Miracle Ikechukwu emerged winner of BBNaija Season 3 tagged “Double Wahala”. Before coming to the house, he was an aviation school student. He swayed the audience of the show by coming first in games while in the house, and for his romantic relationship with fellow housemate Nina.
Efe Ejeba won BBNaija Season 2 in 2017 tagged “See Gobe”. He was known for his original pidgin language and his slang, “based on logistics”.
At the end of the show, the Delta State-born star emerged the winner and went home with a whopping sum of ₦25 million.
