Facebook has released two new Pokémon games on Facebook Gaming: Pokémon Tower Battle and Pokémon Medallion Battle.
Pokémon Tower Battle is available worldwide to users, and players can compete against friends or strangers online.
The game is quite simple: players take turns in dropping Pokémon from the sky as they compete to build a tower of Pokémon. If a player’s tower falls over or one player’s Pokémon falls, that player loses the game.

Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokémon Company said:
“We are excited to launch two new entries in the Pokémon franchise on Facebook Gaming,
“Launching these games through Facebook will allow people all over the world to experience Pokémon in digital form, and we are especially thrilled to collaborate with Facebook Gaming in enabling new audiences to enjoy Pokémon games online.”

Pokemon games available on the Facebook Gaming Portal
Pokémon Tower Battle is an extremely basic game while Pokémon Medallion Battle appears to offer more in terms of depth.
GCTurbo created Pokémon Medallion Battle which is a “digital card battle strategy game”. It is available in the Asia-Pacific region now.
“Trainers collect, battle and evolve Pokémon in medallion form and embark on a journey with their companions to win gym badges and complete their Pokédex,” Facebook said.
It adds:
“Players can also discover new Pokémon which are available every month. They also help to create even better decks.”
Facebook did not immediately respond to a CNN request for comments on if Pokémon Medallion Battle would also expand to other regions.
Both games are available through the Facebook Gaming Portal as part of the company’s Instant Games platform.
