This year the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards 2020 is going virtual for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic. The BET Awards will air Sunday, 28th June 28 from 8-11 p.m on both CBS and BET. It will also air on ViacomCBS network, and BET Her, for cable subscribers.
The show will also simulcast LIVE at 01:00 WAT on 29th June thus, its international broadcast premiere on BET Africa (DStv Channel 129).
This year’s award will be hosted by comedian and actress Amanda Seales. Seales is played the role of Tiffany DuBois in HBO’s Insecure. She is also a former co-host on the daytime talk show, “The Real”.

Alicia Keys, Roddy Ricch, Chloe X Halle, DaBaby, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Kane Brown, Lil Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion, and Summer Walker will perform during Sunday night’s broadcast.
Drake leads the pack with six nominations at the BET Awards, followed closely by Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch, with five.
This year, Nigerian artiste Burna Boy and Mavin Records Rema also join the 2020 BET Awards nominee list.
Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Act, while Rema falls in the category of Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act.
Beyoncé will receive this year’s Humanitarian Award thanks to her efforts to fight racial inequality. She is also receiving recognition for her generosity during the coronavirus crisis and the strides made by her BeyGOOD initiative.
