Every Exciting New Change That Slacks Redesigned Mobile App Brings

Reading about a thing is different from using it and while we already reported about the redesign rolling out for Slack’s mobile app, I finally got mine. I write about the few things you quickly notice at first glance.

It shows the extensive feedback that went into the redesign as it feels like a completely new application now. Every exciting feature is brought to the forefront and not buried beneath a series of swipes and sub-options.

Here are some of the new things you can now do with the new Slack’s redesign.

Compose Message

Slack’s new design allows users to start a new message with one tap. Once you tap on the icon, a search bar comes up and you can quickly search for a channel or conversation and make your meaningful contribution.

Mentions

With one tap you find every single discussion that concerns you on the particular workspace you are on. This will come in handy in those times when you have to make a quick reference.

The DMs bring you a list of all the channels and conversations you have had while the Home button takes you to the starting page of your workspace. Also, with the new You button, you can quickly edit your profile, set preferences and make more personalised changes.

Additionally, to access the last chat you had, all you need to do is swipe to the left and to access the Channels page, you swipe to the right.

The speed with which messages load seems to have increased, although the company did not mention increased speed among the new features that users will see in the redesigned app.
