Google will be rolling out end-to-end encrypted phone calls for its Fi MVNO call service, the company made the announcement today October 29 2021. This new feature will create lots of privacy as no one will be able to listen to audio calls.
Even Google won’t be able to listen to these calls. It now joins other social media companies with the same functionality such as WhatsApp and FaceTime. Although this is a welcome addition for Google Fi, it seems to be in testing.
Only Andriod to Android calls are encrypted and who are both Google Fi subscribers. This feature isn’t available for iPhone Google Fi subscribers. Also, the new feature doesn’t support conference calls or voicemail.
Google has ended its Meet’s previous unlimited group video calls to an hour for free accounts, the Alphabet-owned company ended support at the end of last month.
According to its support page, users with free accounts will no longer have the free 24 hour meeting time, groups Meet video calls are now capped at an hour and nothing more. Google’s Meet was originally created for Enterprise use, personal accounts weren’t part of its audience until last year.

For the second time, the company pushed the Meet’s (formerly Google Hangout) deadline further to March 2021. And for the final time, Google extended Its videoconferencing application Meet unlimited meetings till the end of June.
The Google Meet free account feature was very popular among people, we are curious as to where people will be using more for their video conferencing purposes. Google’s Fi calls encryption calls to work over Wi-Fi and cellular speeds of LTE or higher, with no 3G support.
Google says that all its Fi calls with encryption will have a “unique dial and a lock icon on the screen during the call. The tech company is setting its game to ensure its users have privacy protection over their calls between families, loved ones and businesses.
