Tesla’s boss, Elon Musk took to his Twitter page to complain about some of the information he found on himself on Wikipedia. The scientist billionaire mentioned that it had been years since he checked the page last. However, with this recent read, many changes were due.
He tweeted:
Just looked at my wiki for 1st time in years. It’s insane! Btw, can someone please delete “investor”. I do basically zero investing.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 22, 2019
The first thing he had issues with was the fact that he is described as an investor. He had said that this was misinformation, further clearly stating that all he owned was put in his company, SpaceX and Tesla. He had tweeted immediately after the first tweet:
If Tesla & SpaceX go bankrupt, so will I. As it should be.

This showed his absolute trust in his companies. He ended the tweet with the statement that he would lose his billionaire status if both companies failed. It brought back memories of a tweet back in 2013 where the CEO of Tesla said that he will be the last to pull out his money from the company.

He replied to a fan’s comment about the fact that Wikipedia usually fails to provide accurate information sometimes, by saying his’ was like a war zone. In the tweet he said:
My wiki is a war zone with a zillion edits. At least it’s obviously not curated! Some day, I should probably write what *my* fictionalized version of reality is 🤣🤣

But someone pointed out that Tesla was ‘basically an investment’, still not taking the identity as an investor, Elon Musk replied that he rolled over his investments starting from his first company.
Started Zip2 with ~$2k & ~$100k of student debt, rolled proceeds into X/PayPal, rolled proceeds again into SpaceX/Tesla, but these are all companies where I played fundamental founding role. Not right to ask others to put in money if I don’t put in mine.
