You come back home from work extremely tired and stressed, and you definitely need something to help you relieve the day’s stress. Here are some great things we think will help you relieve stress.

1. Get a head massager

After a long day at work, you will definitely be tired and stressed. Get yourself a head massager or ask someone to help you massage your head. You will feel much more refreshed.

2. Watch a film

Films, especially comedies, are a great way to help you relax. They are less brain tasking and soothing.  Be sure to pick one that will appeal to your imagination and a genre that you’d enjoy.

3. Keep a relaxation tea handy

Certain teas are a great tool for stress management. We recommended teas like lemon, peppermint, and passionflower. It is important that you choose one that doesn’t have caffeine so that your body and mind can relax.

4. Take a warm shower or bath

The best way to leave work behind you is to wash the tension from your body. Water has a calming effect on the mind and soul. If you have a bathtub, light some aromatic candles and soak your body with some Epsom salts. Don’t forget to moisturise after a long soak.

Going through all of the post-shower rituals like moisturising, doing your nails and face masking will also help you to decompress.

5. Play some music

Seek some peace and quiet with some soothing tunes. The type of music you listen to can influence your mood substantially. To promote calm, avoid fast and loud genres of music as they may only aggravate you further and give you a headache. Slower music that you can close your eyes and breathe along to, will help to reduce your heart rate and relieve stress.

6. Read a novel

Sometimes the best way to escape the chaos of the day is to slip into another reality. Try reading about a powerful character, or a positive situation. You can also read a comic you like or complete a novel you never finished

7. Have someone over

Some of you prefer to be alone at home after a long day. Solitude and silence can be the ultimate way to relax. For others, there is nothing more diverting than enjoying the company of your loved ones. Whether they provide a distraction or they help you to ‘hug it out’ shifting your focus with the help of a friend or loved one, this can really help to reduce stress.

8. Go to bed

There’s no better way to restore energy after a stress-filled day than a good night’s sleep. Ensure that your bedroom is strictly a place for sleep by removing distractions that prevent you from sleeping. Once you’re in bed, you are there to sleep. Avoid checking your phone and power down your electronics at least half an hour before going to bed.
