EFCC Arrests 27 Suspected Yahoo Boys In Osogbo, Recovers Eight Exotic Vehicles

Operatives of the EFCC (the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) Ibadan zonal office apprehended 27 suspected yahoo boys on Thursday, 20th June 2019, in Osogbo, Osun State. Among the suspects were four ladies who were presumably their girlfriends.


Items recovered after the raid include: eight exotic cars (six Toyota and two Lexus cars), expensive phones and laptops. The EFCC‘s acting head of Media and Publicity, Tony Orilade, said in a statement that they were working on a series of intelligence gathered on the activities of suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ in locations across the city.




The anti-graft agency, via its Facebook page, @officialEFCC adds that they found the intelligence to be substantially credible. This led to the sting operation on Thursday.


Among the arrested suspects are:

Adeleke Peter, Babalola Abiodun, Aduroja Temitope, Abdulazeez Razak, Adesina Adewale, Osayintoba Dare, Adebowale Fadairo, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, Akinseye Samuel and Osanyintoba Femi.


The suspects also include Austin Onyekachukwu, Oluwaseun Adesina, Ibosiola Olamilekan, Ayoola Lekan, Abdullahi Owopade, Olatunbosun Kolawole, Saheed Adebola. Osanyintoba Pelumi, Ayo Bello, Samuel Emmanuel, Olalekan Oladele, Solomon Mattew, Oyelude Opeyemi were also among. Finally, they had Quadri Olatunji, Ibrahim Alao, Tunde Bello and Fatolu Temitope.


According to the statement released by EFCC, the suspected yahoo boys, by their claims, were graduates, students, computer engineers and businessmen. Channels also reports that they are currently undergoing interrogation to ascertain their level of involvement in the alleged act.


Furthermore, the statement adds that they will charge the suspects to court as soon as they conclude investigations.
