Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s Heart-Stirring Tribute To Sound Sultan On “Rubbin Minds” Is A Must Watch -See Video

TV personality and host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu visibly struggled as he paid tribute to his friend, Late Sound Sultan on his Channels TV show “Rubbin Minds”.Sound SultanSound Sultan passed away on Sunday 11th July 2021 to the shock of many Nigerians after battling lymphoma, a type of cancer that starts in the white blood cells.

The singer has been buried at the Marlboro Muslim Cemetry in New Jersey, United States Of America. He was 44.

Sultan is considered one of the pioneers of Nigerian Hip Hop with a career that influenced many lives.

He released his first single Jagbajantis in 2000 which went on to be a massive hit. He was later signed to Kennis Music under which he released more hit songs. After his contract expired in 2007, he and his brother formed their own label Naija Ninjas.

Speaking about the iconic singer, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu visibly struggled as recounted how he first watched the late Sound Sultan perform at the French Cultural Centre in 2003.

He said they went on to become friends and even neighbors; using the same gym for three years and attending family functions together.

“I dare you to go anywhere to find out anything negative about Sound Sultan,” Ebuka said, blinking back tears.

“When we say good nice things when people pass away….but this time everything being said about him is beyond the truth. An absolutely amazing human being, nice guy, warm soul.”

Obi-Uchendu went on to share one of Sound Sultan’s interviews on the youth-centric show “Rubbin Minds” where he’d been a guest several times.
