E3, one of the biggest video gaming shows will be entirely online in 2022 due to the growing cases of coronavirus. This announcement by the organisers ESA, makes it the third year in a row the event will be entirely online.
This was first reported by VentureBeat, which the organisers spoke in a statement that “Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022.”
E3 believes when things get better, “We are nonetheless excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.” The surging omicron cases have made the decision for the organisers to take the show entirely online.
Even the Grammy awards show joins the host of events going online or postponing. The award-winning show is now indefinitely postponed from January 31st to further notice.
E3 Gaming 2021 Engineering show was huge, last year’s event brought Engineering advances in gaming tech. E3 is annually holds in the shiny city of Los Angeles, but this year’s event will be virtually owing largely to the global coronavirus pandemic.

We can expect to see big video gaming companies and developers flex their newest breakthroughs in gaming engineering. The event name “E3” is also Electronic Entertainment Expo. Expect new gaming titles announced by the likes of Ubisoft, Microsoft’s Xbox, Nintendo, Gameloft among others.
ESA, also known as Entertainment Software Association has the responsibility of hosting the event virtually. There is an E3 app for iOS and Android that gives users the whole experience virtually. To sign up is easy, although an application for content creators and media doesn’t guarantee entry.
Users will be able to virtually socialize with other people, tour virtual exhibitor booths, the latest games, and products. The app is currently live and running, open to content creators, the media, exhibitors, and the general public.
