Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Announce The Royal Baby’s Name

The royal baby has finally gotten a name after months of speculations. This occurred hours after the Duke and Duchess introduced their son to the world. The first look at the newborn was recently released to the relief of well-wishers. Following the news is the now released name of the newborn.

The couple has named their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

They broke the news on their official Instagram account after visiting the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

The caption came with a black and white picture of Queen Elizabeth II meeting her new grandson. Also in the picture are the new family of three, the Duke of Edinburg and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

Official confirmation came from Buckingham Palace at 4.45 pm. It read, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to announce that they have named their son Archie Harrison.”

Archie became the seventh in line to the British throne immediately after birth, but he won’t be called “His Royal Highness.” He would, instead, be called Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

BBC royal correspondent Jonny Dymond reports that it was a “strong indication that they don’t want to bring him up very ‘royal'”.

Prince Harry and Meghan have chosen not to use a title for their first born. This is because the rules around the granting of royal titles became tougher almost a century ago.

A source said about the royal baby name, “They have chosen not to use a courtesy title.”
