Afrobeats superstar Davido real name David Adeleke has shared that he didn’t know his family is wealthy until his preteens.
The singer made the reveal during his interview with Black American podcast, EarnYourLeisure.
He said his parents led a very modest lifestyle and only started getting an idea of their wealth when his family changed residence.
“Even like till date, he is still very modest about the way he spends and the way he goes about his business, the way he handles his business, it’s still amazing to me,” he said.

Recounting his varsity days during a Tiny Desk interview in February this year, Davido noted that his father had worked at Burger King before he became wealthy.
“The inspiration for me has been my father, a Nigerian-American like me. He studied in the States. I studied there myself. I went to HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), a predominantly black college. My dad went to one as well. He used to work at Burger King. He was a manager at Burger King”. he revealed.
