The first version of the album which was released on July 3rd consisted of 19 tracks. Now the deluxe version with 15 more new Pop Smoke tracks is out. It was released on July 20th when the late rapper born Bashar Jackson, would have turned 21.

The new album features a range of artists including Davido, Burna Boy, Jamie Foxx, Burna Boy, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie among others. Davido features on the track “Tsunami” while Burna Boy features in “Enjoy yourself”.

A few weeks back, the deluxe version of the album sparked a beef between Pusha T and Atlanta rapper, Young Thug. In his verse on the song which also features Young Thug and Gunna “Paranoia”, Pusha T appeared to take shots at Drake. Pusha T afterward asked his manager, Steven Victor to remove his verse from the album.

With “Shoot for the stars, Aim for the moon”, Pop Smoke becomes the fourth artist to debut a posthumous album on the Billboard No 1 chart. The album fell to No. 2 this week after it was topped by Juice WRLD’s own posthumous album.

Both Davido and Burna Boy are not new to international collaborations and awards. Burna Boy in June won for the second time in a row the Billboard award for best international act. Davido also recently announced he has a song with Nicki Minaj in the works.

Pop Smoke was shot in what the LAPD now describes as a robbery gone wrong in February 19th, 2020. On July 9th, four suspects were charged with the murder of the late rapper. Two of them face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
