Abducted Nollywood actors Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornell have gained their freedom.
Actors Guild of Nigeria released a statement on its official Instagram page on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, notifying the public of the development.
The statement reveals that the movie stars were released unhurt and in healthy conditions.

Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornell were kidnapped while they were returning from a movie set at Ozalla town in Enugu state on Friday, July 29, 2022.
Just a few days ago AGN President, Emeka Rollas says the abductors of kidnapped actors mocked the union when he told them they had raised about ₦1.2 million in ransom payment.

He said the kidnappers also made fun of the guild while requesting celebrities who shared the incident on Instagram to also make their own contributions.
Nollywood acts have been victims of kidnapping in Nigeria in the past.
In June 2021, a Nollywood actor, Pressing Forward, was kidnapped in Imo State. He was later released from captivity, after which his fans rallied around him in jubilation.
In 2009 veteran actor, Pete Edochie, was kidnapped and released after paying a ransom. Nkem Owoh was abducted and released after paying a ₦1.4 million ransom.
The actor, popularly known as ‘Osuofia’, was kidnapped as he travelled along Enugu – Port Harcourt expressway.
