Clippy Makes A Comeback To Microsoft Teams After Two Years Absence

Clippy has made a comeback to Microsoft Teams after a two years absence. The old assistant makes a return via a sticker pack inside Microsoft’s video calling app Teams.

The once-popular paper clip was retired years ago and Microsoft now says “Yes, it’s true – Clippy has agreed to come out of retirement!” This will be the newest addition to the Microsoft teams platform.

Microsoft says that “Whether you loved him or hated him, Clippy is back with a Retro Sticker Pack in Teams.”

The Microsoft team is also redesigning the emoji for Windows 11 after it made its first appearance in Office 97. The Office assistant reign came to end in 2001 with the launch of Office XP.

The smiling emoji has a nostalgic feeling while growing up. Microsoft on Twitter did a challenge to know if people wanted Clippy back. Poll results showed people did, and Microsoft likewise rose up to the occasion.

The Redmond-based company is creating a modern 3D remake of the virtual Microsoft Office 97 assistant. This would be replacing the current flat paperclip design in windows.

Microsoft obliged to bring back the old 97 Office assistant Clippy, we couldn’t resist the nostalgic pull. Expect loads of Microsoft team users to flex their sticker game with the Clippy stickers.  The team app also has a new background featuring Clippy here.
