The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) has plans to reopen Cinemas nationwide amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The union has come up with safety measures at Cinemas to ensure the safety of film lovers and staff.
The federal government placed recreational centers which include Cinemas on compulsory shut down since the outbreak of COVID-19.
Below are measures put in place by the union
— Use of thermometers for a temperature check and hand sanitizers at entrances.
— Only guests with masks will be allowed entry.

— Social distancing rule of no more than 30 to 50 persons at a time at halls and entrances.
— Sitting capacity reduced by 50% per screen to ensure social distancing in auditoriums.
— Film-scheduling to allow for at least 20 minutes of end-time between shows to help regulate traffic in the foyer areas.
— Staff will demonstrate safety by using disposable face masks and gloves at all points.
— Restrooms regulated to allow strict usage based on capacity.
— Number of available w-c systems to determine the number of people allowed at every point in time.
— Deep cleaning of the auditorium after every show with materials advised by NCDC and relevant regulatory bodies.
— Control of admissions through ticket reservations technology and controlled sitting arrangements.
— Helplines connected directly to NCDC and nearby approved private clinics.
