American celebrities and people worldwide have joined in the demanding of justice for George Floyd, a black man who died after a white police officer kneed on his neck.
In a now-viral video footage, four white police officers on Monday took custody of a black man identified as George Floyd, arresting him for a case of forgery.
After cuffing him, they laid him on his face and one of the officers proceeded to knee on his neck.
In the video, George Floyd was can be heard saying “I can’t breathe” begging the policeman for his life as he suffocated on the floor.
The officer however continued to rest his full body weight on Floyd. A few minutes after, he passed out and was later pronounced dead in a hospital.

The death of Floyd sparked off a wild outrage across America and around the world as people described his killing as premeditated and inhumane.
Celebrities including Jamie Foxx and 50cent amongst others have lent their voice to the demand for justice for the late George Floyd.
Actor Jamie Foxx took to his Instagram to question why black men are easily killed by police officers but when it’s a white offender, the rule of law is followed.
“Why is it when the police show up for black men murder can easily be put into the equation… On the other hand, when a young white teen walks into a church sits down and worships with the members a few minutes later pulls out a high-powered weapon and murders innocent black people while they were worshiping God… The cops showed up apprehend him and take him to get something to eat and he is unscathed.”

The protests signs read “stop killing black people”, “justice for Floyd”. Others reiterated the last words of Floyd “I can’t breathe”.
The police officers involved have been fired from service but protesters insist that charges of murder be brought against them.
The protest was however disrupted by cops who threw flash grenades and sprayed chemical agents on protesters in a bid to disperse the crowd.
