Since her debut act in “Hustlers”, Cardi B is about to put her acting skills to good use again. In the STX drama, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper played as the stripper, Diamond. Cardi B is set to play a role in the upcoming “Fast and Furious 9” film.
Actor and stuntman Vin Diesel, who plays the lead role as Dom in the franchise, disclosed this on Tuesday, 22nd October 2019. The video Diesel shared showed him and Cardi B on the set of the film. The actors, who looked tired, reflected on the final day of the upcoming film on the set in the United Kingdom.
Vin Diesel said, “Day 86 here on the set of Fast 9. We all gave every single thing we could for this movie.”
Cardi B told Diesel’s followers, “I’m tired, but I can’t wait. I ain’t gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one. I need to take a nappy-nap. I’m ready to take my nappy-nap.”
We do not yet know whether she will make driving stunts or be one of the bad guys. But that doesn’t stop us from anticipating her cameo in the film.
Cardi B isn’t the only music star in the upcoming “Fast and Furious 9” film. Fast-rising Latin singer Ozuna will also join the cast in the star-studded film. Ozuna is also in talks to join in the film’s soundtrack.
Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron are reprising their roles. John Cena, Finn Cole and Anna Sawai have also been cast.
The film will not include Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, who starred in the spinoff “Hobbs and Shaw” as the ninth title in the Fast and Furious universe, which has now generated $5.8 billion in worldwide grosses since its launch in 2001.
“Fast and Furious 9” is scheduled to hit theatres on 22nd May 2020.
