The “Hustlers” actress will no longer feature in “Assisted Living”

According to Deadline, the grammy-award winning rapper has pulled out of featuring in what was meant to be her first lead role in the film “Assisted Living” due to “over-extended schedule.”

While the Paramount-produced film was slated to begin next week, the report hints at further uncertainty clouding the production.

“Assisted Living” has been described as a “raucous comedy” with “tremendous heart,” in the vein of classic funny films like “Tootsie,” “Sister Act” and “Mrs. Doubtfire.”

According to Variety, “Assisted Living” follows Amber (meant to be played by Cardi B), a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. On the run from the cops and her former crew, she struggles to find anywhere to hide. Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides out in the one place no one will look — her estranged grandmother’s nursing home.

The mom of two has made previous appearances on TV. Cardi B served as a judge on Netflix’s unscripted music competition series “Rhythm + Flow”. She headlined as well as co-produced the series with Chance the Rapper and T.I.
