Car Maker Hyundai Announces Prices For Its IONIQ 5 Electric Car Trims

South Korean Automaker Hyundai has announced prices for its electric futuristic Ioniq 5, starting from around $39,700. This car is the very first to be built on the company’s E-GMP platform meant solely for electric vehicles.

2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Price Starts At $40,925 For SE Standard Range

Hyundai which was acquired by Auto Manufacturer Kia has about one electric vehicle in the market before now the “Hyundai Kona.” Unlike Hyundai, Kia has more electric offerings such as the e-Niro, Soul, and the newer EV6.

Both companies will be shipping out newer electric vehicles using the company’s E-GMP underpinnings. Let’s go back to the various trims of the retro but futuristic looking Ionoq 5.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Electric SUV Has Dedicated Spot for Your Bag

Firstly regardless of the trim level, each car category ships with a “vehicle-to-load” system which allows the car to charge and power small electronic appliances and other electric cars. Also, they ship with a ridiculous fast 350kw DC fast charging that charges fully in less than 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Ioniq 5 has three trim packages, the SE, SEL and Limited Edition.  The base model SE is also known as the standard range has a 58kWh battery,168 horsepower and up to 220 miles on a full charge.

This configuration also has a mid-range real wheel drive (RWD) version for $43,650 and an all-wheel-drive version for  $47,150. These all ship with a higher 77.4kWh battery, more mileage and dual motors for the AWD versions.

Interestingly, the SEL trim has an RWD version for $43,650 and an AWD version for a higher $49,400. Right at the top is the limited edition Ioniq 5 with a $50,600 RWD version and an AWD version for $54,500.

These higher trims are not as expensive as other rivals, although Hyundai will deliver them first before the base model ships. Countries that support citizens with vehicle electrifying incentives can receive up to $7,500 tax credits making these cars a lot cheaper.
