Nigerian disc jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh popular known as DJ Switch has cleared the air about her supposed asylum in Canada.
The DJ who has been on the run since live-streaming the shooting at Lekki Toll Plaza in October 2020, took to her IG stories on September 26 to address the news that she’s been in Canada.
“To the people who know me so well, I don’t really share, except my craft, art and comments on social issues that affect us all,” she wrote.
“But let me say this to news outlets and bloggers, I know traffic is the game but when you don’t properly investigate and run with things that you don’t know for sure or have verified, you sincerely hurt or in some case cause complications for people in real life.”

She also added that she’s just about to begin travelling and she would not be moving to Canada.
“I have been cooked up in a house for months, I never got asylum in Canada, I did not step foot into Canada. I didn’t speak to anyone who said they spoke with me on the issue. Anyways I will leave it there. By the way, it is now that I am travelling and it is not Canada. Love.”
Recall that DJ Switch gave an eye-witness account of what happened at the Lekki Toll Gate to CNN’s Becky Anderson. During the interview, she shared that the Nigerian government is a full-blown dictatorship masquerading as a democratic one.
DJ Switch live-streamed the shooting of innocent protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza on October 20, 2020, and has been on the run since then following several threats to her life.
