Call of Duty 2022 first teaser uncovered, to mostly focus on Ghost

Call of Duty 2022 is rumoured to be using the name Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and its first teaser has been uncovered by fans.

According to COD enthusiasts, the coming entry will focus on one of the game’s iconic characters, Ghost. Also, because it is a sequel of the 2019 reboot, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it is expected to feature none of the futuristic elements of the pre-2019 era. Instead, it will be like the original Call of Duty games from 2009.

The company making it, Infinity Ward, dropped a cryptic teaser on social media after announcing the game in February 2022. It deleted its entire Instagram post and turned its Twitter profile picture into a black circle and its banner image into a dark image.

Ordinarily, the banner image would not raise any suspicion but a gaming YouTuber known on Twitter as @MrDalekJD enhanced it slightly and the dime dropped.

Many quickly found Ghost at the top of the picture, watching someone in a car, and several theories were floated, including the idea that the image was cut out of a trailer.

Besides the image reveal and the possibility that the game would be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2, there are not many details available on it. However, it is rumoured that a Columbian drug cartel would be the story’s central villain.

There are rumours that Infinity Ward could announce something relating to the franchise by the end of April 2022 or May.
