Burna Boy’s fans are convinced; if there ever was made a Grammy-deserving album, then it is “Twice As Tall”.
Burna made true his word and dropped his highly anticipated album “Twice As Tall” on 11:30 pm on Thursday night and the reception is overwhelmingly positive.
The singer has previously been embroiled in social media controversies earning for himself a few “haters”. But like siblings, Nigerians, Africans generally have cast aside their grouse with the artist to celebrate “Twice As Tall”.

The album is the manifestation of an artist who’s come into the knowledge of who he’s, has perfected his craft and is now unapologetic about it. He said as much on the last track “Bank on it”.
“Twice As Tall” is more introspective, more daring with powerful messages embedded in songs like “Level Up” with Youssouf Ndour, “Monsters you Made”, with Cold Play’s Chris Martin and “Time Flies” with Sauti Soul. Burnaboy indeed made good his promise of making an African album.
Burna Boy sampling this speech at the end of “Monsters You Made” speaks volume.
A call for revolution against the oppression of the black race.

The smoothness of the production, the switch from one track to the next, the versatility of the discography; it will take literally a musical miracle for another Nigerian album to top “Twice As Tall” this year.
Another striking aspect of the album is the songs connect differently with individuals according to taste. While some lean towards “Way too big”, others weave from “Onyeka(baby)” to “Alarm Clock”, “23” and other songs on the 15-tracked album.
