Burna Boy, Davido And Wizkid Are Most-Streamed Nigerian Artistes On American Billboard Charts

Top Nigerian artistes, Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid have become the most-streamed Nigerian Musicians in 2020, according to the American Billboard charts.

 

Topping the list is Burna Boy with over 435 million streams, followed by Davido, with over 285 million streams while Wizkid comes in third place with over 176 million streams.

 

Gospel singer, Sinach is the most streamed female musician and the number one in Gospel. She has over 120 million streams.

The year 2020 is looking good for Nigerian artists. Just last week, Burna Boy and Jorja Smith’s “Be Honest” went platinum in France.  Burna is also the only Nigerian artiste outside Wizkid to be certified platinum in France.

Meanwhile, Sinach is another gospel artiste doing the nation proud internationally. She made history by becoming the first African to top the Billboard Christain songwriter chart globally.

In 2018 the visuals for her hit song “Waymaker” became the third Nigerian song to garner 100 million views on Youtube, coming behind Davido’s “Fall” and Yemi Alade’s “Johnny”.

 

Earlier this year, she also received a plaque from YouTube for hitting a million subscribers on the platform.
