Brymo Makes Acting Debut In Short Film “Price Of Admission“

Top Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi Brymo, has made his acting debut in “Price Of Admission“, a short film that spotlights the Payola culture in the music industryBrymo Makes Acting Debut In Short Film “Price Of Admission“

Payola is the illegal practice of paying a commercial radio station to play a song without the station disclosing the payment.

In the project, directed by Udoka Oyeka, Brymo plays the role of Kola, a fast-rising artiste, struggling to make it.

Kola struggles between getting a record deal and also taking his sister off the slums to fund her education.

Meanwhile, in his quest to become a superstar, he had to go through the extreme lengths of lobbying radio personalities who demanded money to get his songs on air.

The short film features several movie stars including Folu Storms, Femi Branch, and Shawn Faqua. The film had its’s virtual premiere in Lagos On 24th January 2021.

Brymo is one artist who has remained relevant in the Nigerian music industry with his unique vocals and impactful lyrics.

He released his debut studio album, “Brymstone” in 2007. This was followed by his second studio album titled “The Son of a Kapenta”, released in 2012. Three singles “Ara”, “Good Morning” and “Go Hard” were top on the album. On 1st April 2020, he released his 15 track seventh album tagged “Yellow”.
