Last week, Beyonce released an album titled “The Lion King: The Gift” featuring a bunch of very popular Afropop artists. The 14 track album has made a lot of waves and has been trending on social media since its release on Friday.
Among the tracks on this album is a song titled “Brown Skin Girl”. The track, which features Wizkid, St. Jhn and Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, praises dark-skinned women.
This song inspired the popular hashtag #BrownSkinGirlChallenge, which dark-skinned and coloured women have been using as captions for their photos on Twitter and Instagram.
