Actor Regé-Jean Page recently spoke about his family’s reaction to his racy scenes on Netflix’s hit series “Bridgerton”. The British star who plays the role of the Duke of Hastings on the show says his family wasn’t ready for such scenes.
“No one was sufficiently prepared. I wasn’t sufficiently prepared, and I was there. I think people were grateful for the intensity of the romantic aspects of ‘Bridgerton;’ I’m not sure how grateful I was to watch it for myself. It was overwhelming. But I think people were looking to be overwhelmed,” he told the Hollywood Reporter annual Emmy Roundtable series.
“My family doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by my backside, specifically, too often, but they’ll take it on this occasion because everyone seems to be terribly happy,” he added.

Regé-Jean Page will reportedly not be returning for season two due to creative differences with executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
According to Page Six, Jean-Page walked out on the series over disagreements on his season 2 character.
“He wasn’t happy with what was planned for his character for Season 2, which would have kept him a player but not the focal point of the show,” a Page Six source revealed.
The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Page was offered $50,000 per episode to appear as a guest star. Regé Jean-Page however turned down the offer for “a multitude of reasons’.
The 31-year-old fan favourite relationship with socialite Daphne Bridgerton, played by 25-year-old Phoebe Dynevor was the high point of the series. His steamy portrayal surely will be missed, as his first-season appearance led to some memorable, meme-worthy moments.
The series is currently filming for its season two.
