Chief Olusegun Runsewe, Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), on Saturday came for Nigerian transgender socialite, Bobrisky, again. The DG said Bobrisky’s impact on society is worse than Ebola, the deadly epidemic.
Runsewe said Bobrisky, arguably the only well-known queen in Nigeria, poses serious hazards to Nigerian youths. He said if society does not promptly curtail Bobrisky, the resultant effect would be worse than the Ebola outbreak.
He said Nigeria should protect youths from imitating Bobrisky, who said he had changed gender, from male to female. Runsewe urged Nigerian youths to stop imitating Bobrisky, by remaining responsible and good ambassadors of the nation.
”Bobrisky is a national disaster, an embarrassment to the country, engaging in cultural corruption as a cross-dresser. We have to start to curtail his activities before it gets out of hand. We will not allow Bobrisky to destroy the future of our youths and the unborn Nigerians,” he said.
The police’s “revelation”

Runsewe said that when the police stormed Bobrisky’s birthday party, they revealed that she was training youths to take after her. He said immediately they invaded Bobrisky’s party, a good number of the boys she was training left. “So that was an achievement”, he said.
According to him, Bobrisky’s activities negate the culture and tradition of the nation. He said she could go to other climes where the culture of being transgender would be tolerated.
Runsewe urged parents to guide their wards not to emulate Bobrisky but to take after responsible celebrities in the society.
It is unclear whether Runsewe is targetting Bobrisky for any reason other than bigotry. As far as we know, compared to the Ebola virus, Bobrisky has not killed anyone.
