Biggest Announcements From Apple’s Streaming California Virtual Event

Apple’s September 14th virtual California event ended yesterday September 14th 2021 with big announcements from the technology giants. The company officially released the new iPhone 13 lineup, iWatch 7, new iPad and iPad Mini and a host of fitness+ features.

Also, in the announcement is the release date of its devices software updates. From September 20th, the iOS 15, watchOS 8 and iPadOS will be available.

iPhone 13

The new iPhone has a slight redesign with a smaller notch and bigger batteries. Apple made a few changes to the iPhone 13 and 13 mini exteriors with a new diagonal camera arrangement. The higher iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have a higher 120Hz resolution screen with Apple’s Promotion display.

For the internals, Apple went with a newer A15 Bionic processor, while the camera across the new lineup has larger sensors for capturing more light. Also, Apple unveiled a new cinematic mode and photograph styles for pictures.

The cinematic mode mimics movie productions; it focuses and blurs the backgrounds of characters during a video either in Dolby vision or Apple’s Pro resolution. Photograph styles on the other hand allow you to pick different styles of a photo before you take the final shot.

iPhone 13 Mini starts at $729, while the iPhone 13 starts at $829. The higher 13 Pro start at $1,089 and has a new 1 terabyte option. They will be available on September 17th for Preorder and in Stores in the US on September 24th.

The iPad mini has refresh with an edge to edge design. It resembles 2020 released iPad Air while maintaining an 8.3-inch screen. 2021 iPad mini will ship with an option for 5G and support the second generation of Apple’s pencil.

Apple is consistent with the touch ID technology on the power button with this tablet; it charges with a USB-C port and 12MP front-facing camera. The base model starts at $499 and is available for preorder before launching on September 24th.

New iPad

Apple’s ninth-generation iPad runs with an A13 Bionic chip, which is very surprising as the mini runs the latest A15 bionic chip. It shares the same 12Mp camera setup with the 8.3inch Mini. The base model starts at $329 and will also be available on September 24th.

 Apple Watch Series 7

Apple watch series 7 now has a bigger look although without the rumoured flat new design. We speculate that Apple will release this new design in 2022 with the removal of the notch on its newer iPhones. So, the iWatch bigger screen allows for more content as expected, which accommodates a keyboard sometimes.

Applications and the OS are now fleshed out to accommodate for the newer screen, while Apple says the new 41mm and 45mm screens will support older model bands. Fitness+ now adds Pilates workouts, guided meditations while group workouts will be coming much later in the fall.

Apple’s newest watches won’t be available for preorder just yet, its base model starts at $399 and will be available this fall.
