Grammy award-winning singer Beyoncé is gearing support for the #EndSARS movement. This is coming a few days after Tiwa Savage reached out to her on Instagram soliciting for her support.

“We are collaborating with coalitions to provide emergency healthcare, food and shelter. To our Nigerian sisters and brothers, we stand with you.” The “Lion King” singer said.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s statement has elicited diverse reactions from her followers. While some believe it is coming at a time when the world needs to know what is happening in Nigeria, others believe it is coming too late.  Some followers also believe that her statement will in no way help the current situation.

Just yesterday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State imposed a 24 hours curfew on the state. This was to halt the #EndSARS protest holding at strategic locations of the state.

However, there are reports that soldiers allegedly shot protesters at the Lekki toll gate yesterday, October 20th with causalities in different hospitals in Lagos. As of the time of this report, the Governor of Lagos has revealed that the state has recorded one death and is still in the process of confirming if the deceased was a protester.

Many believe that Beyoncé lending her voice to the #EndSARS struggle will bring the international help that Nigeria so desperately needs.
