Bernie Sanders Drops Out Of Presidential Race As Joe Biden Clinches Democrats Nomination Ticket
American Senator Bernie Sanders has dropped out of the presidential race, clearing the path for American Senator Joe Biden to clinch the Democratic Party presidential running ticket.
He announced his news to step down from the presidential race via live stream on Wednesday saying he’d seen the path to victory had become impossible.
“I wish I could give you better news, but I think you know the truth, and that is that we are now some 300 delegates behind Vice President Biden, and the path toward victory is virtually impossible,” Sanders said in the live stream.
“So while we are winning the ideological battle and while we are winning the support of so many young people and working people throughout the country, I have concluded that this battle for the Democratic nomination will not be successful. And so today I am announcing the suspension of my campaign.”

Sanders exit from the race officially cements what was clear; the gap between him and his competitor Joe Biden had become too wide for him catch up.
However his announcement presents a huge turnaround for Biden as barely six weeks ago, Sanders was the favourite of the Democratic Party. It seemed he had a firm grip on the nomination ticket up until on the last day of February when Biden surged to a massive victory in South Carolina putting miles between the former vice president and Sander’s race.
With this new development, Biden and President Donald Trump are the only contenders in the presidential elections slated for November.
