Hellena Taylor, the former voice actor for Bayonetta video game made some damning claims about her working relationship with the studio behind the game, PlatinumGames. She even called for fans to boycott Bayonetta 3, which is scheduled for release on October 28.
Taylor shared videos on Twitter over the weekend about her experience working with the video game company. Then, she added that the game maker had insulted her by offering her $4,000 to make the entire Bayonetta 3, when, as she estimates, the franchise has made $450 million.
Her revelation came at a time when voice actors were speaking up about the treatment they received from employers. She added that she was speaking up in solidarity with people who do not get paid properly for their talents. Taylor encouraged fans who would have bought the game, to spend their money on charity instead.

According to reports, her replacement was Jennifer Hale, a somewhat famous voice actor whose game credits include Mass Effect, Overwatch, and Ratchet & Clank. She has also enjoyed film and TV roles. There is the belief that Hale would likely charge higher than what Taylor charged, which is confusing because it means that the studio could actually have paid her.
The aggrieved voice actor said that the offer had made her mental health nosedive because of worry about losing her house. She added that she wasn’t even afraid of a lawsuit over breach in contract because she currently had no money.
Jennifer Hale could only say that she supported every actor’s right to being well paid and hoped that the issue was resolved amicably. Meanwhile, Hideki Kamiya, the Bayonetta series creator at studio PlatinumGames, said that Taylor exhibited an attitude of untruth in her statement.
