Banky W welcomed his first child, a baby boy Isaiah Oluwasegun Wellington with his actress wife Adesua Etomi in February. In an interview with Hip TV, the singer and politician said he changes his child’s diaper every morning even though they have a nanny. According to him, caring for his son is their bonding moment.

“Fatherhood is my favourite job description. The boy is so full of life. Isaiah Olusegun Wellington is everything we hoped for and more. Every morning, I’m the first person he sees, before his mom or the nanny,” he said.

“When he wakes, I do the first duty: I take him out of bed, clean his diapers, feed him, play with him. We have our bonding moment. I think that I understand a bit more God’s love for us as his children, now that I have a child.”

“I’m a loud and proud hands-on father. His first word was ‘dada’. He’s only nine and a half months.”

When asked why he took a break from the music scenes, the record label boss said he did so “to live”.

“I disappeared musically speaking for a while. Artistes never retire. They just stop when they no longer have something to say. I took some time off to just live, get married, have a baby, build businesses,” the singer added.

“I did politics and followed my heart in those facets. I needed time to live those experiences so I can have more stories to tell and songs to sing about.”
