Asus has confirmed that it is launching a new smartphone, Zenfone 7, with flagship killing specifications and affordable prices. This could be bad news for Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra and even OnePlus 8.
Asus Zenfone 7 came via a Twitter announcement from the company’s official page. It had confirmed the rumours that were already going round about a possible phone launch. Asus posted:
— ASUS (@ASUS) August 18, 2020
While the video in the Tweet does not provide many details about the Asus Zenfone 7 specifications, we noticed that it does not have a selfie-camera punch hole or even teardrop design. This leaves us with three guesses: either its flip selfie camera, a pop-up selfie shooter, or an under-display selfie sensor.

If it is the latter, then Asus Zenfone 7 would be taking the smartphone market by storm. Also, according to leaks that we found online, the device is launching with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. This is the same chipset that the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra and OnePlus 8 launched with.
It seems Asus is really determined to totally pull the carpet from under its competitors. While the company has not confirmed this news yet, we heard that it will likely come with different variants. Thus, we expect Asus Zenfone 7 6GB/128GB, Asus Zenfone 7 8GB/128GB, and Asus Zenfone 7 8GB/256GB.
These impressive specifications of the device also join a 5,000mAh battery. As for the price, a Twitter user named Roland Quandt (@rquandt) claims that Asus Zenfone 7 will cost between $594 to $654 for the different variants.
With this price and specifications, when Asus launches the Zenfone 7 on 26th August 2020, it will really disrupt the market. Its most recent device, Zenfone 6 had even been more expensive at launch than this. Likely, it is trying to sell as many units as possible at this time when people are more reluctant to part with money over changing smartphones.
