Apple Updates Its Airpods Pro With New Conversation Boost Feature

Apple’s latest firmware update for its Airpods Pro now allows for better conversations, making it easier to hear people’s voices. This new conversation feature now forms part of Apple’s Transparency mode.

Airpods Pro users can actively tweak this new feature, as the microphones on the earpiece would isolate voices above background noises when active.  The new firmware update is known as 4A400 and users can now use sliders to tweak the transparency and amplification.

Your AirPods Pro might have received the firmware update. To check, simply:

  • Head to the Settings app on your iPhone
  • Click on General, and then About.
  • Look at the firmware number on the section tagged Firmware Version.

If it shows that it is running firmware “4A400” then your AirPods Pro can use the new conversation Boost feature. Sadly, there’s no manual way to update your AirPods, you just wait to check to see if they are.

Also available in this new firmware update is a feature that allows users to easily find their Airpods Max and Airpods Pros with the Find My app. So, how do you turn on the conversation boot feature?

  • Simply head to the Settings app and click on Accessibility.
  • Select Audio/Visual just under the Hearing section.
  • Slide to turn on Headphone Accommodations
  • Click on Transparency Mode and Slide on
  • Scroll to conversation Boost and turn it on

It’s about to get less awkward for Apple users using their headphones while talking. The occasional struggle to shift from ANC to transparency mode when listening to a conversation is gone. I personally would not have to remove my AirPods Pro before I can actively hear a conversation directed at me.
