According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is firing Tony Blevins over a TikTok joke posted by creator Daniel Mac.
When Mac had walked up to Blevins, who was seated in his Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with his wife, he likely did not expect the wild turn the video would take. Daniel mac, if you don’t know him, creates content by walking up to people driving exotic looking cars and asks them what they do, while he is recording them.
However, when he asked the Apple executive the same question, Blevins said, “I race cars and play golf and fondle big-br**sted women. But I take weekends and major holidays off.”

As many already pointed out, he was quoting a line from a 1981 movie Arthur, where actor Dudley Moore said, “I have rich cars, play golf and fondle big-br**sted women, but I take weekends and major holidays off.”

Yet, Apple was not laughing at the joke after it surfaced. And although Blevins himself had said nothing about his affiliation with the company in the video, it seems that internet users quickly uncovered that part.
Following the news that he was leaving the company, Blevins said that he was sorry, as quoted by Bloomberg, and he apologises to anyone who was offended by his mistaken attempt at humor.
Inside sources claimed that the video had caused several members of the procurement team, which Blevins led, to be uncomfortable about continuing to work with him.
Many internet users appear to be defending him because the statement did not represent his view on women. Also, they give him a free pass because he was quoting a movie. Regardless, it does not seem that Apple is going back on its decision.
